 Hello everyone!

Things Rhien has been doing lately -

~ Disneyland! We went for a week with some friends. Overall, a great trip. It rained, though, for most of the time. Our first day there, it rained sideways, and that night there was us, many rain-drenched cast members, and maybe 150 other brave souls in the park. We walked onto Space Mountain. At Pirates, they told us if we wanted to ride again, we could just stay in the boat. It was amazing! Somewhere, we have a picture of main street with no one there.

Also, we saw a REALLY AWESOME Pirates: On Stranger Tides sneak peek on our last night there. They had a really amazingly good Jack Sparrow we weren't allowed to interact with, which made me almost cry. When asked if he was going to be out in the park at all, a cast member told us he would be, starting this weekend (after we were already gone), through the release of the movie.

Sadly, we had to leave before that was going to happen. :(

But, did I mention the AWESOME Pirates preview? It was awesomesauce. Ian McShane is going to be an amazing Blackbeard!

Also, we are now Disney pin collectors. I won't tell you how much we spent on pins. Because it's kind of embarrassing! I am sad that we had to leave before we could find and trade for all of the sets we wanted to complete, since it'll be a few years before we get back. Alas! (Did I mention the Jack Sparrow I will never get to meet?  *sad face*)

The ElecTRONica rave thing they put on at California Adventures was also awesomesauce! Members of our party alternately danced, played classic arcade games in Flynn's Arcade, or purchased and consumed glowing mojitos to drink (they were heavy on the rum, and came in glowing glasses! Actually, it was a glowing fake ice cube. I still have mine!)

World of Color was fantastic. Well worth the price of admission, so to speak.

~ Dragon Age 2

WTF game??  OMG, talk about traumatizing! I played last night, and I cannot believe you had a creepy Frankenstein serial killer kill Hawke's Mom! Wait, it's Bioware, I can totally believe it!  Still, if this is midway through the game, I'm afraid of what I'll have to deal with at the end!

Party banter continues to win, btw. I may play this game through a second time, just to see what other party configurations give me.

~ Pirates!

Yes, I got lots of nefarious ideas while in Disney, because it was a lot of pirate thinking time for me.  I wrote today, and will continue writing until the rewrite is finished. Also, the villain is way more evil now, which makes me happy. Although I kind of don't want to kill her off. I'm not going to in this book, I don't think. We'll see when I get to the end.

~ Back to Dragon Age 2

Seriously, Bioware, WTF?  Do you guys lie awake at night and think "Now what can we do in this game to TOTALLY TRAUMATIZE THE PLAYER?"  Yes, I think you do! You are making me afraid for Mass Effect 3!

Since my daughter works at Disneyland, she can get you a discount on any remaining pins you need. (Also, she gets special edition cast member pins.)

I know that rainy night of which you speak. She was working that night and told me how few people were in the park.

They won't let Jack Sparrow interact because when they had him in the park before, women would accost him and run up and show him their bare breasts.

I LOVE ElecTRONica.

Sounds like you had a great trip.

Oooooooooh...!

Where was she working? It's funny to think we may have seen or even spoken to her!

OMG, seriously that is just WRONG on so many levels. He's an actor, in Disneyland, and while he's playing the character, he's not the character, or the original actor, and even if he was....Johnny Depp I'm sure isn't interested in seeing a bunch of strange women's breasts. And neither is whichever actor is playing Jack in Disneyland. In Disney.

But, whoever they had playing him the other night was seriously so good, I had to watch closely to even tell it wasn't really Jack, if you know what I mean. The mannerisms, the look, the costume, the everything - he is awesome, and if I'd had the chance, I would've told him so.

I'm honestly a bit disappointed in DA2, but there were definitely some fun and less fun aspects that I thoroughly enjoyed. That thing with Hawke's mother nearly had me crying. So cruel.

Who are you romancing?

Anders. although now that I'm at the end of Act 3, I wish I'd chosen Fenris. SO dissatisfying.

Yeah, Anders deserved a beating. Ugh. I'm trying the Fenrish romance now, but Isabela is my girl, dammit. It was hard to resist her.

Maybe if I play again. Maybe. Stupid repeating dungeons.

I know, right? Same. Thing. Over. And. Over. I hope Bioware listens, and fixes that for Dragonage 3. Among other things.

I hope. I will be pissed if this is the level of quality they'll come up with for ME3.

Though, I heard DA2 is mostly EA's fault. They're treating it as a milch cow and want their money NOW. Which makes me feel sad, because it could have been an awesome game if they'd been given the time.

I admit, I wasn't worried before, but now I've got some concerns about ME3. But, something to consider: the release dates between DA:O and DA2 were only a year apart. The release dates between ME2 and ME3 are almost two years apart, which reassures me a little bit. At least, more time will have been put into the game.

Oh yeah, definitely. They put a lot more time in that game and I think since it's the last one in the series, it should be okay. (I just don't want to assume, I assumed DA2 would be fine as well.)

This was mostly in regards to the DA series, but I would be lying if it doesn't make me wary about other games too.

Yeah, exactly! As the last in the trilogy, I'm looking forward to some serious payoffs, both story and character-wise in the third installment. (Particularly in the romance area, since I was loyal to Kaiden, despite that awful conversation on Horizon!)

ME2 was a great game. I was annoyed at the forced-employment by Cerberus at first, but getting the opportunity to tell the Illusive Man where to stick it at the end was very satisfying. I'm really hoping for an epic final chapter against the Reapers.

After finishing DA2, I'm not sure what to expect from the next game. Are we going to continue this Templars vs. Mages theme? It sure seems like it, and I REALLY didn't like the way that story played out in DA2, so...I don't know what to think or hope for, really.

They better make it epic or I'll weep. And Ashley better be back or I'll week twice. *coughs*

I get you on the templars vs mages thing, but I don't think that's the main big bad. I don't know, maybe I'm wrong, but I think we'll be facing the evil that was released going into that lost Thaig. That relic came from somewhere, and Cassandra seemed interested in that a lot. I think they let a big bad out which is using the templars vs mages war...

Or I think too much.

Oooh! I like your idea! I also think the next game will be based in Orleis - there was a lot of focus on the tensions there in side stuff, and Sandal is headrd there, so...

And yeah, Kaidan/Ashley better be back in major way. Aftery DA2 experience, I'm giving serious thought to another ME2 playthrough. Are you PC, xbox, or ps3?

Hahahahaha. The Sandal thing makes so much sense.

I'm on PC. I had started a new playthrough of ME1 a while ago when DA2 distracted me. I hacked it so I could go for Jane Shepard/Ashley. Dude, they recorded the dialog, why was it not in the game? Why????

And you know, as much as I have my dislikes with DA2, I'm still replaying it. What does that mean? Other than that I'm a sucker for Isabela.
