rhienellethSeeing Batman Begins tonight. Very excited, as reviews have said it is darker and better than even Tim Burton's version, which was classic.
We aren't going until the 10:00 show, though, since Mark has to teach his class at 7:00, which means I'll be up late. And I'm still sick. This stupid cold just keeps hanging on.
Of course, staying up late probably won't help, but Mark loves and adores Batman second only to Superman, and really, I think Superman only wins because he's, well, Superman and invincible. The little boy inside of Mark always wanted to be able to fly and have super strength and be invincible, but the grown man is much more drawn to the darker anti-hero character of Batman. So depending on the day, he'll tell you whichever one is his favorite.
Yes, grown men are still really boys inside. :)
Didn't work on the fic last night, mostly because my cold decided to resurface with a vengeance, and I couldn't seem to focus on anything for very long, including the book I tried to read. So I went to bed early and am feeling marginally better today. I plan on taking a nap before heading to the movie tonight.
What's that? Is that my mother's voice telling me I'm being an idiot even thinking of staying up til midnight to see a movie when I'm sick? Ah, well. I never listened to her even when I was still living with her. Even though I ought to have.

Date: 2005-06-16 07:00 am (UTC)So jealous. I'm catching an early matinee on Thursday. I love Batman. A number of years ago I was big on collecting the comic, so I've always been big on the movies--that is, until Joel Schumacher got a hold of them. ::gags::
I have high hopes for Christopher Nolan as the director and I'm optimistic that I will enjoy this incarnation of Batman...
But let's be honest here folks. Even if this movie sucks huge monkey balls, I won't care. My Batman love aside, I utterly adore Christian Bale. Yup, I'm shallow and I'm not too proud to admit it: my hormones will win out on this one. ;) I'm already anticipating the hotness of the Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne/Batman icons. ::drools::
