rhienellethNew SCC last night! How awesome was that? Pretty damn awesome, I think! I did have one little thing that bugged me, but overall I thought the episode was really strong.
Nice, picking it up exactly where things left off. Wrapped up the stuff from last season and moved forward pretty quickly. I'm a little "Huh, I think Cameron would've suffered at least some burn damage from the bomb" but hey, I'll suspend my disbelief. So, bullet points (I haven't done this for a show since Alias!)
~ Cameron going bad? AWESOME! AndRiver Summer is a great little actress. She pulled off that truncated injured-Terminator movement so well, I'm sure she studied how Arnold did it, exactly like she studied Robert Patrick for the motorcycle cop scene last season. She is all kinds of awesome. :D
~ Even though I knew she wouldn't kill either of them, I actually got caught up in the building suspense of Cameron hunting down John and Sarah. That whole sequence was just really damn good.
~ Derek and Charlie - LMAO! "Aren't you married?" HahahahahahahahaHA! That's right Charlie, remember your wife? I know TPTB have said no to any possible romance between Derek/Sarah, but you can't tell me that didn't come across as male territory games. I also don't think they can get rid of the chemistry that already exists between Derek and Sarah. I'm not going to read every line as shippy, but come on - Derek was pretty much pissing all over Sarah in that conversation with Charlie, proverbially speaking, of course. (I also like how that paralleled my fic, Secrets, and Derek's feelings in re:Charlie.)
~ "John, I'm better now, don't do this! I'm perfect. I love you, John!" Wow. I knew she was lying, of course, and Sarah knew she was lying, and even John knew she was lying, but Cameron really pulled out all the stops on that one. Confirming my suspicions that she knows John Connor views her, Cameron, differently than he views other models. Whether she knows this from future!John, or she picked it up from now!John at some point last season is less certain. And I felt bad for him. He wanted to believe her, but knew he couldn't.
~ My one problem with this ep: I get that they had to have John defy his mother and plug Cameron back in, or no more Cameron. But WOW that scene read as really false to me. John pointing a gun at Sarah and Derek stops them from stopping him? Really? Cause I'm thinking both of them are badass enough to not just let that happen. I was dumbfounded. And then when he gave the gun to Cameron before they all knew she was better??? WTF! Derek, for certain, would not have let that happen. And both he and Sarah just stood there? What? Sarah should have been over that damn car and shoving John to the ground. That whole scene read really OOC to me. It could have been written differently and still accomplished the same thing.
~ "So he is married." :-)
~ *sigh* I hope cutting off his hair so it no longer hangs all emo into his eyes indicates a less emo John in the future. But it doesn't look like it, does it?
~ HOLY FRAKKING HELL!! A T-1000! Or maybe T-1001, I guess we'll find out as the season progresses. At first I was really unsure and "meh" about this new villain. Now I am so on board for this, holy crap this is going to be a good season!
~ Agent Ellison, wow are you ever in a bad spot. I guess now we know why he let you live, huh? I wonder how long it will be before Cromartie and the T-1000 hook up and start working together. I wonder if she'll give him upgrades! I wonder how she plans to use Ellison. (Other than what we saw in the preview.)

ETA: Oh, and I lovelovelove the new opening/voiceover - I love it all, but mostly that DEREK is included! Yes!
