My "Wow" of the morning...

Run, people, don't walk, to this fashion photography website. It is amazing. Basically, there are a bunch of fashion magazine type pictures, and if you click on them, and then hold your mouse over them, it shows you the after-all-the-airbrushing-and-touch-ups, vs. the bare naked picture.

Wow!! I knew they airbrushed to make those models look "perfect", but I had no idea how far it went! Skinny models have, well, not fat rolls, but skin that bunches up in a natural and not "perfect" way when they stand in certain positions. And I swear, they made one models butt rounder and bigger! They digitally add make up, or at the very least, fix it to make their eyes look more sultry, their complexion absolutely blemish free. One picture in particular ages about twenty years from after to before.

I guess I just never knew how far the airbrushing went. Dude, I could be model "gorgeous" if they did that to one of my pictures!! I'm just in shock. and amazed at how far the media has pushed our idea of true beauty into the land of "impossible in real life".

Not only did they edit out weird creases, but they completely redid some skin tones. The thing that makes me go wow is that even without the airbrushing, Halle Berry is still gorgeous.

But some of them... Alicia Keys being one- just look completely different, don't they?

you know what's funny (aside from the obvious tummies, butts, and wrinkles), is that they airbrush out elbows (wrinkles and dimples). Are elbows unsexy? I'm not sure I get that. It just seems bizarre.

Heh, I did work for a photographer before, there was this awfully ugly and Asian guy, who, in modelling standards, is considered fat. I slimmed him down a size. And extended another model's legs by like 2 inches.

The Alicia Keys pictures are weird. They changed the shape of her face, put makeup on, basically changed what she looks like. I like the originals better. Erykah Badu is another one that's very different.

Aw man, I really wanna see this, but when I go to the site more than half the pictures are x-ed out, and when I click on those that are there I get the "error can't find web site" message. Bummer. I could use a pick-me-up.
