Yeah, so I'm at work this morning with a nasty head cold. I have...four more hours to get through, and then, thankfully, only one class today. I can't breath through my nose, my head aches in that sinus-headache way, and my thermometer this morning said my temp was approaching 101. Damn it. I don't get time off with pay, and can't afford to miss a day. Of work or school.

Oh, and I'm bored stiff. I'm online, updating my journal to fill five minutes of the four hours I have left. Because while cruising the internet might be mildly acceptable at my work place, curling up in a corner and going to sleep isn't.

Since I'm here, I might as well talk about Alias. )

You all have expressed my feelings on this subject so well, I haven't commented, but this just makes me freaking pissed. Browsing news articles this morning, I read one about Angel's cancellation, and the last paragraph was as follows:

If you're still craving some bloodsucking in your primetime lineup, keep an eye out for "ER" producer John Wells' upcoming revival of the vampire drama "Dark Shadows," which not-so-coincidentally will air on the WB. "I don't think the two shows will be competing against one another," WB head Jordan Levin rightly predicted last month. Grrrr. Aaargh.

What??? Excuse me? Did I frelling read that right??

They cancelled Angel to make room for yet another Dark Shadows re-make. I know it. Angel's ratings this season have been good, better than last season. The network suddenly cancels it with some lame reasoning like "it was time, like other shows such as Frasier and Friends, also having their last season". Lame, guys. Frasier and Friends had twice the run Angel did. That was a nice attempt at PR, but one that fails utterly if the audience has a modicum of intelligence.

Pffft. I am so disgusted, I have no words. Dark Shadows doesn't need another frelling re-make. It's been done. Angel was a show with originality. Creativity. But then, look at the disaster that is Charmed. The WB obviously has trouble appreciating genre shows with good writing and original storylines, while venerating the unoriginal and lackluster.
