The Prince and Me
Apr. 3rd, 2004 08:47 amSo, my girlfriends took me out for my *cough* 30th B-day *cough* last night. It isn't technically until the 9th, but this was the night we all had free, and they had childcare, so...
We went and saw The Prince and Me, and it was wonderful. (Yes, predictable, too, because it's that type of movie, but it was really done well.) The actors had chemistry, it was funny, sweet, romantic -- everything you expect from a good girl movie.
Oh, and Luke Mably? Can kiss. I mean, damn. I don't know if he and Julia Stiles had something going on off camera, or if he's just that damn good at kissing. Worth it, right there, to go and see this movie.
The theater was packed, and around us sat several couples. The guys who were their with their gals even enjoyed it, from the comments we were hearing. Pretty cool. Oh, and the teeny boppers down front made the funniest comments when Luke Mably took of his shirt. We laughed as much at our fellow movie-goers as we did at the movie.:)
Then the four of us proceeded to the Olive Garden for dinner, where the host who seated us was, in a word, fine. Considering that we walked in from the parking lot discussing the...er...attributes of Luke Mably, it was hard not to laugh while he was leading us to the table. (He made really good eye contact when he spoke with you, too, which is rare.)
I think our waiter, who wasn't half bad himself, overheard us commenting on his co-worker, because every single time he came to our table, he the biggest grin on his face. Plus, we made him really nervous. He kept apologizing all over himself all evening, while blushing and grinning.
I think he was all of nineteen. It was really very cute, and we made sure we left a big tip for him. :) But it did make me feel old.
