3 Days and Counting...
Oct. 28th, 2004 09:55 amUntil the NaNoWriMo kickoff. I'm actually kind of nervous for the first time, because this week (as you can tell from my complete lack of posting and comments) has been insanely busy, and I'm just praying that no part of November at all is as busy. I hope. Or I'll be in some serious trouble.
In other news:
-- We got Mark's first paycheck, which included his sub pay for September, so it was a large paycheck. Of course, we got our property taxes on the same day. I don't know how much P.T. people pay in states with a sales tax, but here in Oregon, we pay a hella lot. *winces* Let's just say that the check and out taxes were almost exactly the same amount. Within $20. You know, we might actually pass a sales tax if the the Government Goons would agree to significantly lower our P.T. first.
-- One of my bestest girlfriends is celebrating her B-day tomorrow. I don't have her gift yet. I meant to buy her jewelry, cause I'm on a jewelry-as-gift kick of late, but haven't gotten around to it yet. And she really wants Firefly on DVD, but I think her ex-husband is getting her that. (Don't ask, strange relationship.) So now I'm down to one day, in which I'm totally slammed busy, and I don't know what to get her. *panicks* Plus, she's had the Week from Hell, which includes her five year old son being sent to the principal's office at school, and her car being in the shop at $100 an hour so they can find the mysterious electrical problem it has, and fix it. So I really want to get her something good.
-- My mother-in-law's baby, her twelve year old cocker spaniel, has liver cancer. They found out on Monday. They spent $400 on tests to find out what was wrong (have I mentioned, the dog is like her child?), and there's nothing that can be done. It's only a matter of time, and Jan's been in tears since she found out. Mark and I are going to get her a card tomorrow.
-- I've been having problems sleeping lately. I don't know why. apparently I'm really stressed about something. Yesterday my eye kept twitching, and it never does that. And I can't sleep. I mean, Mark finally has the stupid job. What do I have to be stressed about?
-- I have nothing new in fandom to report. TV has been kind of a wasteland for me. I know a bunch of you are into Lost, but the whole premise just never appealed enough to me to watch. I'm not even watching Smallville anymore. I watch Without a Trace on Thursday nights, and that's it. Since the Farscape marathon and mini are done, I feel...a bit empty in the fandom department. I'm just waiting for January. Alias, Battlestar Galactica...
