Jun. 16th, 2006 10:21 amI had this dream this morning where I was back in my high school choir (no doubt brought on by repeated listenings to Into the Woods, though that has more to do with my high school drama days than choir.) Anyway, we were on one of our road trips, and the choir director hosting us was Anthony Stewart Head. Odd. I spent the last half of the dream asking everyone in it if they had an ibuprofen for the headache I had. No one did. This should have clued me in to the fact that I was going to wake up with a pretty bad headache - I mean, I've never dreamed about having one before. Now, the ibuprofen I took IRL has finally taken effect, and the headache has receded to a dull pain rather than sharp and throbbing. Yay, ibuprofen.
I think we're going to see The Lake House tonight. I don't even have to drag Mark; it's totally his kind of movie. My husband is a romantic at heart. One of his favorite movies of all time is Somewhere in Time with Jane Seymour and Christopher Reeves, no lie. He made me watch it when he realized I'd never see it. The Lake House is right up his alley. Take a good love story and mix it with time travel, and he's there. (He has a fascination with time travel. He often says if he ever had one wish, it would be to have a time machine to travel anywhen he wanted to observe history.) Here's hoping it's a good movie. My pet peeve is love stories that take you through the whole spiel only to end in tragedy. WTF? Go through all that to have one of them die? (Message in a Bottle royally pissed me off.) We shall see.
Oh, I'm still not over my X-men obsession. I actually ventured to the Pit of Voles last night in search of post-X3 fic. OMG, my eyes!! I've been soooooooo spoiled by my f-list. I'd forgotten the sheer amount of drivel that gets posted there. I mean, the grammatical incorrectness alone is enough to make me want to stab out my eyes. The spelling! The punctuation! The cumbersome sentence structure!
As you might guess, it was a fruitless search. I did end up resurrecting my ancient account and putting several of my more recent fics up. What the hey. How many people read Charmed fic around here, anyway? I can answer that - not many. Might as well put it up where thousands of people scroll through drivel every night. *shudders* Some discerning readers may be happy to see it.
Hmm, I have a spa pedicure appointment in....half an hour. Yay! My feet will be so happy. :)
