Oct. 6th, 2006 11:37 amIt's frakking freezing in my office today, and somehow in the remodel work they did this past year, they seem to have disconnected our main heater.
I may have to start bringing blankets or something to work with me. As it stands, my feet feel like ice cubes inside their socks + shoes.
Am listening to the new Evanescence album, The Open Door. Had pretty much given up on this group as yet another one-album-wonder, but the long wait filled with nothing but re-released music was worth it. Amy Lee still impresses.
I know BSG premieres tonight, but we're Tivoing it and going out to dinner and a movie, instead. I know, I know. What can I say? Date night with the husband wins. We're seeing The Guardian - I've heard good things, but am already expecting to cry at the end and I'm not even spoiled beyond the trailers.
Damn, it's really hard to motivate myself today to do anything. Friday, payday, and I'm extra tired cause we stayed up too late last night visiting with friends, who were up from San Diego for a brief stop through. This is only the second time we've seen them since they moved two years ago for Kevin to pursue his Doctorate in Mathematics...because he's just that good at math, which is kinda scary to me, who failed at geometry. They'll be back for Christmas, and they're trying to lure us down to see them around February by telling us they're only an hour from Disneyland. We'll see. Depends on plane tickets.

Date: 2006-10-06 07:02 pm (UTC)Have you seen the Illusionist? It supposed to be good, and I'd like to see it, but I just don't think we're going to have the time to see it in the theaters.
It is such a lame Friday. *le sigh* But I don't have TB! :)

Date: 2006-10-06 07:09 pm (UTC)I can't tell you anymore, really, without spoiling you, but it's got great sets/costumes, good acting, mystery, romance, intrigue. The Hollywood marketing machine didn't really get behind it, and they should have. Instead of promoting something like Tallegeda Nights, or whatever it was.

Date: 2006-10-06 08:25 pm (UTC)WOOO! FUXXORED TAGS!
Date: 2006-10-06 08:38 pm (UTC)I remember now that we friendinated after my doomed affair with BSG had already wound down. Here is a short sort of recap of it with links to the greatest hits. And even more can be found by hitting my battlestar. galactica! LJ tag. Or just...reading any entry in my journal between last July and this April or so. Because seriously all I used to talk about was BSG. EVER. BSG AND PILOTS.
BSG made me crazy. In both good and bad ways.
WE HAD SOME TIMES, IS WHAT I'M SAYING.

Date: 2006-10-06 08:39 pm (UTC)I'm enjoying BSG, but I'm having plot worries on the whole 'god' over-arc...worried that it will get lost in the shuffle, and if I'm honest - I just want to know now. And let me just say, the guy with 6? Would have been out an airlock by the end of the second/third episode. And yes, I know no one else can see 6 (unless she wants to be seen) but he's acting so weird, I'd be saying - not in my gene pool!

Date: 2006-10-06 09:16 pm (UTC)And no worries - they have not yet dropped the poly-monotheistic dichotemy storyarc. It is slowing unfolding, sort of.
