rhienellethSo, in perusing the f-list, it looks like everyone was about equally delighted and impressed with the season premiere. (It's so lovely scrolling through my f-list to read everyone else's reactions to a show again. It reminds me of the height of my fandom days!)

soundingsea had some interesting points I had not considered, but as soon as I read them my mind went "OH! DUH!" I think I was too overcome with glee and squee to think of it, but she is totally right! Samson=John, Delilah=Cameron, and there were a LOT more parallels throughout the ep than just John cutting his hair at the end. Also, it never occurred to me that Cameron might have overrode her own programming because of John's faith in her! I just assumed John had fixed her chip, but again, soundingsea is on this - and I think it is a highly interesting spec!
I speculated last night that in being injured, Cameron's emotion chip got turned on, re:Arnold in T2. In the previews, it looks like she might actually be jealous over John, which shouldn't be possible, right? Except it could be...and if she's overriding her own programming, is even highly likely! We already know Cameron is different from other models - that goes all the way back to the pilot episode - and we don't entirely know how. I am now hoping she did indeed override the terminate order herself, as that would make for a VERY interesting change in the terminators and how they function, and may explain why future!John really sent Cameron back. Hmmm.
Remember, John became emotionally attached to Arnold in T2, and the terminator told him , right before committing suicide "I know now why you cry, but it's something I can never do." I can totally see future!John trying to make a terminator who can.
Also, I have seen some speculation that Shirley Manson might not be a T-1000 - that she might be the more advanced model from T3, but I'm not sure about this, because so far it seems to me that the show is completely disregarding T3 from the canon. There have been no references or callbacks to it, and we've had no hint that future!John has or ever had a wife, for instance. Anyone know via interviews or anything if the shows creators are including T3 in the canon or not?
