My day so far:

Wore a new shirt this morning, an extremely cute blue-and-white striped JNY button up shirt, which I promptly spilled coffee on. Then I managed to smear blood from a nasty paper cut on the cuff. A very small amount. No one will probably even notice, but still.

It was such a cute shirt. :(

And then, so you all remember that I joined Partylite, yes? Well, my friend L did a catalog party as one of my first six that I must give. (She has her eye on this one very cool tealight holder that she wants for free). She asked her co-workers and friends and family if they would order anything first, not wanting to force anyone. Several people assured her they had stuff they wanted. It's been three weeks, and it is more than past time that I need to close her show and place her order. Well, now she has only one co-worker ordering, she and her mother are fighting again, so no order there, and her sister, who swears up and down that L never said anything to her about ordering candles. (I was right there when they had the conversation, and L2 not only heard it, but said there was a holder and some candles she wanted to get for her living room.) In that time, she bought herself a new D&B purse, had the windows of her new car tinted, and this morning e-mailed me with her order. A single box of votives for $10.90. She knew about this for 3 weeks, and couldn't set aside $40 like she originally told L she would? (Of course, she swears that conversation never took place.)

*sigh* I have an outside order from someone else I'm going to add to her show to help her out, but L is a little frustrated with family and co-workers right about now. And I am persoanlly frustrated with her sister, as this is just one more incident in a long line of selfishness and convenient "forgetfulness" on her part. If I hadn't been right there and heard her, I might feel differently.

Just for future reference, because I don't think it will work on set stains: You, and only you, can get a bloodstain out if you use your own spit on it. Your spit won't work on other people's blood, and vice versa.

I learned this from my quilting hobby. Fingers can get bloody while doing handquilting and you don't want bloody stitches on your finished quilts. By daubing a bit of spit you can prevent staining.

Really? What a cool fact! *sigh* I wish i'd known that this morning. I guess I'm just gratful that it's a small stain...and I used cold water to get as much of it out as possible.
