Lunch today: honey ham on wheat w/lettuce, tomato, and pickle.
pita chips from Costco w/asparagus/spinach/parmesan dip (yum!)

I'm trying to actually eat lunch at work each day, instead of waiting until 2-3pm when I get home, which I think has thrown off my metabolism.

Mark is getting a root canal as I write. My teeth are, well, perfect. I've never had a cavity or braces or anything, so I have no idea what shape he's going to be in for dinner tonight. Will he be able to chew steak, for instance? Or should I go for something soft-ish?

Tonight is going to be an "us" night, where we spend it together watching movies. We finally got the UK BSG S1 set from Best Buy yesterday. It's set up for Region 1, according to the box. My question is: what makes this release different from the US version coming out...is it next month? Is there extra footage or something? We may do a BSG marathon tonight. Or we may watch "The Wedding Date" a cute happy movie that I saw but Mark didn't in theaters (he likes a lot of chick flicks believe it or not) that came out today.

Also, Mark really wants to get an MP3 player. He was looking at iPods, and then a friend tolf him he could get a better MP3 player from other companies for cheaper, and that much of iPod's price is in the name, etc, and that Apple doesn't really stand by their product and that they're making people pay for new batteries for a known battery issue with the system. True? False? I know there are many, many iPod users on my f-list, so I'm sure you all know far better than we do. Advise me! :)

Also, I adore my new Johnny-Depp-as-Dream Sandman icon. :)

Well...I own the "UK version" from Best Buy and still have no idea what the difference is between it and the yet-to-be-released version. Unless the sooper special Serenity DVD somehow makes it way better :)

I have heard about the iPod battery issue, however, and the fact that it's non-removable/non-replaceable. I don't know if they're still like that, but when they first came out, if the battery died you had to buy a WHOLE NEW iPOD! I have a tiny one (512 mb) for working out that is by MPIO/iriver, and a friend has an iPod-esque from Dell. Both were far cheaper than iPod/shuffles :)

Well, I'm glad to own the DVD set a month early, then. :)

Hmm, interesting. Sounds like I need to research alternate MP3 players, then.

I've never had a root canal but I did just have my wisdom teeth out, so I'd say go for soup or eggs something really easy and soft for dinner. It might be painful for him to open and close his mouth.

*shudder*

I love my iPod. I've had three, starting with the first-generation 5GB. I replaced the battery on the 10GB one I used to have. I don't remember what it cost, but it wasn't too much. That iPod was a used one anyway. My current 40GB has had no problems whatsoever.

I didn't hurt at all after my root canal. In fact, the root canal was more pleasant than even a filling! (although I have no idea if I'm weird like that.)
