Yet another question: If I put movie scores and my entire Bon Jovi collection on my iPod, but then I want to shuffle play only the scores, is that doable?
And how many actual minutes of music is "1,000 songs", anyway? I mean, what is that for a qualification? Some songs are two minutes, some are ten! I want to know approximately how many complete albums I'll be able to carry with me.
Also, thanks to everyone who's answered my poll. :) I'm pretty sure I'm going with the mini. In blue or pink. Can't decide.

Date: 2005-08-18 08:42 pm (UTC)It's really a matter of space. Most mp3 files are 4-5K in size. Divide that into 18.5G for a 20G pod (the software takes up the other space) and it'll tell you about how many songs.
Just for an example, I have about 750 songs on my iPod, and according to iTunes (which actually adds up the individual play times of each song) that's 1.7 days of music.
I listen to my Pod on shuffle for, I'd say about six or seven hours during my workday. I usually get up to the low 100's. The pod displays how many songs you've gone through in whatever playlist you're currently playing. Right now, for example, I've got "Total Eclipse of the Heart" which is song 73 out of 493 in my Daily Mix (my Daily Mix is just all my songs with the classical snipped out, and a few albums I don't like to include).
