Today was a second latte morning...
Aug. 22nd, 2005 10:31 amThank God for my beautiful espresso machine. *sips second latte of the morning*
I've been fighting off a major headache/wants to turn into a migraine since Saturday night. I had to bail on my girlfriends for our girls' night about halfway through, and suffer through four hours of a wedding that was more like a night at a bar than a wedding on Sunday, which took us two hours one way to get to. (It was very strange. A beautiful wedding, but apparently many guests had been on site since Thursday, partying with the wedding party and families. People were drinking from bottles of beer during this really elegant, very formal ceremony, and then afterward they split off into these disorganized groups for more drinking.) We were among the first to sit down at the reception tables, and the very last to get any food, because no one announced it was being served, and our table was waaaaaaaay at the opposite end. Then when we finally did get our food, we came back to find our table had been stolen by some really rude people who ignored our purses, cameras, scarves, and the glasses we'd clearly been drinking from to take it from us. And they totally didn't care. They were like "Oh, did we take your table?" *shrug* "Sorry, it was the only one with silveware left." Assholes.
The only good thing was that we were there for the groom, who Mark has known since grade school, and we met up with some friends we absolutely adore but had lost track of in recent years. They live an hour away from us, and we're getting together again soon.
We didn't get home until after 9pm last night, and I still had to make something for dinner (by the time we got to the food at the wedding, most of it was gone!)
I woke up this morning to the pain of my headache come back, but at least Mark got to start work again today. Not that he's super excited about inservice, but he is super excited about having a contract.
Speaking of which, maybe now that we have insurance, I should actually consult a doctor about my migraines. Years of having no insurance have trained me to just deal with things, instead of seeing what can be done about them. I need to get over that.
Also, podcasts rule, and I love and adore my iPod with the force of a thousand suns. :)
