Jan. 12th, 2006 11:19 amHad an 8:00am doctor's appointment today, a follow-up to my physical back in October. She wanted to check and see how my migraines were doing (fine, haven't had one), and make sure my on-the-edge blood pressure was a caffeine induced fluke last time.
Caffeine induced or not, it's down to 124/80, yay! (I've continued with the coffee, but added a clove of pickled garlic to my diet each day. In addition to many other health benefits, the garlic apparently helps one's blood pressure stay low.) I did make the sacrifice of having no coffee this morning, however, and the appointment left me with zero time to stop and get some on my way to work. I cannot believe how freaking tired I am. How do you non-caffeine drinking people get through a work day?
My doctor is so cool. :) She hates prescribing drugs, so she's always recommending natural ways to fix things. I'm on a vitamin regime for my migraines, supplemented by monthly massage. And she wrote me out a prescription for the massage, which should get my insurance company to start footing the bill for that. Yes!
In a moment of paranoia derived from reading one of my friend's journals yesterday, I googled my real name to make sure my journal does not pop up. It didn't (yay!), but when I used my maiden name, I did get a bunch of links about the short story we got published a couple of years ago. Nothing personal, just my name on Locus' page and a bunch of book sites. Which is ludicrously cool to me. :)
Our nice, newly remodeled building? May not have me or my boss moved back into it. We knew that was going to happen. Once they got our desks out, it was just a matter of time before someone came up with the bright idea of making our area a mini-conference room, since it's so nice now and all. Where does that leave me? At the moment, trapped at the top of a tower all by my lonesome. Which does have its benefits. No one bothers me. But it also has its downside -- anytime I need anything or to speak to anyone in person, its a compete hassle.
Ugh. I'm drinking a Diet Pepsi, but so far it's not doing anything for me, caffeine wise. Plus it's cold, and I'm chilled, so that's not helping me, either!

I just googled my name. The only one that comes up as actually me is a webzine article I did a couple of years ago--and I'm cool with that.
My username, though... since I've used it since I was about 16... LoL. That comes up with LOTS of stuff. But I don't use it professionally, so it's all good.
