It won! It won!

I haven't been this happy with the way an Oscars night turned out since...well, ever. (We won't talk about the year Saving Private Ryan got tanked for Shakespeare in Love.)

I missed the Best Director presentation, dang it, but I saw Best Picture. And yes, I agree wholeheartedly with PJ: 'fantasy' has been an F-word in Hollywood for too long. Kudos to him.

Now, if only Johnny Depp had won for PotC, I would be blissfully happy. But then, it is about time Sean Penn won something, so...I can deal. :)

Received my assignment for the Rohirrim Ficathon today. Dang. Not quite what I was hoping for, although the request is rather open, so I have plenty of room to play. I just don't think I have the room to write the fic I really wanted to do. Neither of the characters I wanted to focus on were mentioned by name. *sigh* That's ok, though. I'll write this fic, and that'll get me in the LOTR writing mode to write the one I've been wanting to do. :) So it all works out.

What is it about watching Pride & Prejudice that makes everything all better? I watch that movie, and whatever I've been unhappy about just becomes so unimportant. I'm now in the process of making a Darcy/Elizabeth icon, cause I so need one.

I swear, that movie is the best girl movie ever. The best chocolate-and-ice-cream answer to PMS. The best curl-up-on-the-couch with a blanket and pillow movie. The best watch-it-for-the-tenth-time with your bestest girlfriends movie.

Now I want to go and watch it again. :)
