Thursday Should Be My Friday
Sep. 2nd, 2004 09:17 amYeah, so technically today should be the end of my work week, and the beginning of a four-day weekend. But it isn't, because I am a weak person. My old boss at the bookstore called me, and they're setting up their seasonal calendar kiosk this weekend. She asked if I would be willing to participate in a work party to that effect, and I said "yes" because I have this real problem telling former employers that I enjoyed working for "no".
*sigh*
Four-day weekend is now a two-day weekend. I'm working eight hour shifts during the day tomorrow and Saturday to help haul around awkward metal shelves and stuff that is really obnoxious and dusty. Not to mention, I helped pack it all up at the end of the X-mas season last year, so I know exactly what I'm getting myself into. Ugh.
Why, oh why, do I feel guilty when I say no?
