Just got back from girl movie night. Shockingly, we went with V's advice -- she's notoriously terrible at picking movies -- and forewent 50 First Dates in favor of the more action oriented Punisher. Not that I mind action movies. There exist a large number of action flicks among my favorite DVDs. But the previews for Punisher never grabbed me. And V is notoriously bad at picking movies. You have no idea. Honestly.

Still, she insisted we would thank her after we watched it.

Oh. My. God.

Thomas Jane.

I mean, he looked good in Deep Blue Sea, the movie I first saw him in. But that does not begin to compare to the absolutely gorgeous eye candy he presents in this movie. I mean, I actually asked halfway through the movie if a woman had directed it, because he's without his shirt so very very often. Like, the entire movie. Shirtless. And he worked out and bulked up for this role.

I don't consider myself too shallow. Ok, so I write NC-17 fic. I watch Vin Diesel movies for reasons that do not usually include his acting. I enjoyed the eye candy in Troy almost as much as I enjoyed Eric Bana's stirring performance as Hector. But damn. You could ask me right now if Punisher was any good as a movie, and I don't honestly have an answer. Because I'm still too shallowly fixated on Thomas Jane shirtless. OMG he looked so good. Words cannot describe the very perfectness of his abs and hips in particular. Not that his chest and arms were anything to scoff at. I have a thing for men that are cut, but not too bulky. And he was, in a word, perfect.

Good movie? Maybe tomorrow, after a good night's sleep I'll have an answer. And maybe I'll be too busy searching for decent screencaps online to make icons of.

This concludes tonight's absolutely shallow post.
