Oh, Derek, I missed you!

I confess, I've been a bit disappointed in SCC this season, other than the premiere. It hasn't been bad, exactly. Just not nearly as awesome as those last several episodes of S1. I'm particularly enjoying seeing where they're going with Cameron, but beyond that, it needed a little something. And see, this is exactly what they needed:

1. MORE DEREK! Okay, so the show's 'people' need to understand that the dynamic Derek adds to the group makes this show as good as it was late last season. Pretty simple.

2. Derek and John, off together on a mission! WORDS CANNOT EXPRESS. Uncle/nephew bonding time! Not that Sarah isn't all that, but boys need strong male figures, and that's Derek, even if he is fantastically broken. Actually, especially because he's fantastically broken.

3. Sarah and Cameron. They work very well together. I like their dynamic almost as much as I enjoy Derek and John.

Now for spoilers )

I knew I should have saved those links!

So, awhile ago a bunch of authors did this thing where they posted their own successful query letters and discussed them. It was a response to some authors doing the same thing for synopses, I think, and that's what I need right now. Synopsis writing advice. I've only written one other, and was never very pleased with how it turned out. I've had a request for a synopsis for Nemesis, which, you know, I really should have as I'm sure this won't be the only time I need to have one. Some agents specifically request a synopsis with the query, and most who request partials DO request one.

Did any other writers on my f-list happen to link to some of those synopsis posting authors? I could use all the help I can get.

W00t! Finally, FINALLY finished chapter one of Consort. As in, the re-rewritten version, not to be confused with the original version Word callously ATE, or the first attempt at rewriting, which sucked.

All new, better than before, and the story, she is moving forward.

3600/90000

Not counting the extra scenes i have socked away in another file, for later. Too lazy to find a real wordcount meter.
