Fannish stuff

The fresh raspberries on my oatmeal this morning were a great idea....in theory. In practice, even with the application of a little sugar, it seemed to bring out every ounce of sour in them.

Avatar!

So, I was right there with everyone else when the casting choices for Avatar: The Last Airbender were revealed. And I sort of went WTF?? when they cast the Indian guy from Slumdog Millionaire (which I have not seen) as Zuko, because while he's worlds better than Jessie McCartney would've been, Zuko's ethnicity as drawn was no more Indian than it was Caucasian.

However. All of that being said, I STILL could not help a fangirly indrawn breath of squee when I saw these.

Good grief, that kid looks a lot like Aang! And wow, whatever else I can or cannot say about him, this Dev Patel certainly has the intensity to pull off Zuko - and that's in a two dimensional promotional pic.

I am cautiously excited. They could still be totally ruining it. BUT, I have some hope.

Who is playing Azula, though? Zuko and Azula looked very much alike in the series. It would be nice if the familial resemblance was just as obvious in the movies.
