That's it. I'm done. I'm so fucking tired I can barely see straight. All I can say is, this masquerade thing better be the funnest damn thing since our first Disneyland trip, cause if it's not...
This has been my week so far:
Friday night: up until 4:00am cutting, pinning, helping L prep things to sew.
Saturday night: up until 3:30am doing more of same, and being on hand to try things on and figure out how best to make them fit, etc., for my costume.
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday nights: more of same until 12:30-1:00am, only after we finished my costume, then it became time to do L's. We thought we had it done Tuesday night, until I got this tearful phone call last night about how her half cloak thing looks terrible on her and she can't possibly wear it, and OMG what is she going to do?! Answer: go to the fabric store w/dress in hand, find the right fabric to go with it and make a full length cloak last night, sans lining. Up until 1:00.
Plus there are the pills I'm on, giving me migraines and shit. And my mask I have to finish. And her crown. And the cloak clasps I impulsively decided to make to match, cause "it'll only take me about an hour". Uh-huh. I was going to get the mask and crown done last night, but her emergency call kinda detoured that until tonight.
And then there's V, putting everything off until the last minute on her shit, and then daring to bitch that her lining was giving her fits last night. It was all I could do not to send her a scathing e-mail reply along the lines of "shut the fuck up you selfish, whiny bitch".
Which is probably because my tolerance has gone from zero to negative levels, what with the mood swings because of these stupid pills, of which I have two more days worth to take, and the being tired and cranky. L and I are going to go out to lunch at our favorite Chinese place and go and see Flicka together on Saturday, before we see the other girls that night for her birthday. Cause we were both horse crazy girls/teenagers and are suitably squeeful about this movie, and damn it, we're going to go and do something fun and relaxing together after all this frelling work. We're not yet convinced, either of us, that Friday (TOMORROW!!) night's masquerade is going to be fun or relaxing, though there are plans to walk over the nearby pub after and throw back a couple drinks (or three).
God, that sounds amazingly good right now.

Date: 2006-10-26 05:23 pm (UTC)Have a good time at the ball, and just remember - you are the incredibly talented woman who made those masks and crowns. Expect lots of questions on where you got them, and make sure that you and L both have business cards.

L's crown gave me absolute fits, but it again was a learning experience, so the next time I'll know what works better.
