Dec. 1st, 2006 08:13 amWhy is it harder to make myself actually write on chapters in which big events happen? It shouldn't be. I mean, I know what happens in the story for that chapter. Nothing comes as a big surprise, usually.
But it is. It's almost as though it's daunting, somehow, to actually put to paper this thing I've known was going to happen for the last ten chapters. Whatever. It's sort of pissing me off. So I guess the best thing to do is get back to writing.
Ouch. My paper cut from yesterday hurts when I type. :(

Date: 2006-12-01 04:46 pm (UTC)I go through the same thing when I know exactly what I want to do when I sit down and write, but it's like pulling teeth or whatever. This usually happens to me towards the ending of the book. Isn't that what you're writing now? I don't know what it is, maybe it's my subconscious telling me I don't want it to end.

Date: 2006-12-01 04:50 pm (UTC)But yeah, it's very odd. I know what has to happen, but getting the words out and on paper is, as you said, like pulling teeth. For some reason, the chapters leading up to the big pivotal chapter(s) come out much more easily.
