I am going to be posting corset pics later today - they're still in my camera, but at least I took them. But I'm posting now because other stuff wouldn't wait, namely:
If you haven't yet seen it, an official trailer for PotC: World's End is up at yahoo movies. Words cannot describe, people. *clutches hands to heart* I would quote my favorite bits, but that would be spoilery, and you should all just go watch it, instead!
Also, remember those 2,000 words I managed yesterday? Well, seriously by the end I was forcing myself to get them done just so I could finish the chapter. Not that they weren't good words, but it wasn't just flowing from me faster than my fingers could type, like they were the chapters before, you know? So, I gave one of my first readers (those two brave souls who are reading this thing chapter by chapter) the new chapter at lunch, as she was home sick for the day and her home printer doesn't work for her to be able to print it out herself. I'm back at work for less than an hour, and she calls me and says, and I quote: "That was f***ing brilliant." She says variations of this like three times, much to my bemusement, and then goes on to say what she loved so much about it, and that it is hands down her very favorite chapter of the entire book.
Ok, so she knows more about the book and how it's going to end than anyone outside of me. I've had long, extensive conversations with her about how I'm tying everything up, who's living, who's dying, how Parr and Elysia have changed over the course of the story, etc. And yes, that chapter did really start things in motion for a LOT of that, so maybe that's why she was so impressed. But, really. I was so not expecting that. don't get me wrong, it's a good chapter. It has one of my favorite scenes in it, but it isn't my own favorite chapter. (Of course, I have a hard time picking just one, but maybe that's just me.) I was sorting of expecting that reaction from her three chapters ago, and instead I got it now. *scratches head*
Maybe I'm more brilliant than I thought, eh? That's my story, and I'm sticking to it. :)
