More jewelry stuff
Mar. 30th, 2007 09:52 amI made L a ring like mine last night, and of course it turned out better than the first one. Don't get me wrong, mine looks good, but hers looks better. I got lucky on estimating her size from mine, and it fits, yay!
I looked it up, and peridot has some healing properties and is especially associated with the heart chakra. I figure it can't hurt her to be wearing it, what with everything going on in her life right now.
My ring mandrel shipped yesterday, so soon I'll be able to make rings in specific sizes. I also ordered some garnet and amethyst rondelles for accent, and am on the hunt for some focal stones other than lemon quartz. I need to post this to BL, but for now if anyone is interested: I'll be charging $45 for a ring in argentium silver and $55 for one in gold fill. If I find some super awesome stones that people like, or someone wants to customize their ring with more stones, or more metal, or more work, I can come up with a custom price.
When ordering rondelles, I couldn't pass up a facted labrodorite nugget for an as-yet-unplanned pendant:

I LOVE labradorite. To me, it's more beautiful than most (much more expensive) opals, with its flashes of blue and green through the grey, and the inclusions in it just add to it's beauty. I have no idea what I'm going to do with this, but I had to have it.

Date: 2007-03-30 05:56 pm (UTC)Your ring is beautiful. I'm debating asking for one for my birthday (August) but supplying the stones myself (I have over 300 faceted peridot, as well as scores of citrine, sapphire, aquamarines and others) But none of them have holes through them. (-:

Date: 2007-03-30 05:59 pm (UTC)Obviously, the price would change w/you providing the stones. :)

Date: 2007-03-30 08:58 pm (UTC)It is a bit freakish isn't it? We've been hiding like moles since before Xmas though, so it isn't entirely a shock.
