Fall shopping

I'm not buying a new handbag this year, because I haven't found one I like better than last year's Kathy VanZeeland purchase. I am, however, buying a new pair of black boots. After much searching and being disappointed in fit/style or comfort, I finally settled on the old standby of a pair of Doc Martens - say what you will, Doc knows how to make a good quality, comfortable boot.

I'm being brave and trying one with a heel, even though I haven't found a decently comfortable pair of heeled boots to wear in years. If anyone can do it, Doc can, right? They're also calf height, which i though would be fun. I'm hoping my jeans will still fit over them if I want to wear them as a winter "everyday" boot. If not...well, perhaps a second pair of Docs will be on the horizon.

Aren't they just awesome looking? I sat there and thought "What will I wear them with?" trying to justify the expense. Obviously skirts won't be a problem, but I don't wear a lot of skirts in winter. In the end, though, I just couldn't pass them up.
