In about a week and a half, I'm going to see Camelot up in Portland, with Lou Diamond Phillips as King Arthur. I am such a LDP fangirl, you have no idea. Before discovering online fandom, before Alias or any other such fandoms, I was mildly obsessed with Young Guns and Young Guns 2 - I saw the second one in the theater four times, I think. I saw every bad movie LDP did, there for awhile. I am extremely excited to see him doing a Broadway musical, even if it's not The King and I, which I would happily have killed to see (even though I would have chosen Yul Brynner over LDP, had I a choice. Yul was one of the most powerful actors ever, IMO.)

The summer after I graduated from high school, I was lucky enough to see My Fair Lady with Richard Chamberlain. It was AMAZING.

My concern is what to wear. I remember it being a somewhat formal event, with My Fair Lady. I went with my best friend at the time and her family, and we all dressed up and went out to dinner first and it was exciting and fun and, in case I forgot to mention, AMAZING.

So now I'm pondering my closet, and thinking "hmmm". I have absolutely no idea...I'm considering the skirt and corset I wore for FaerieCon, but not sure if it's too much, you know? Still, it would be nice to wear one of my corsets for something more than a costume.

Last time I was at one of these, there were people in prom dresses (including me) and people in ratty shorts and T-shirts. I think the corset/skirt with a nice shawl would be lovely.

We should also look into planning outings for good musicals...I forgot you like them too!

(You have a thing for Lou Diamond Phillips? Wow, I moved on after La Bomba.)

More a thing of the past. When he was younger (and so was I). And really, my YG obsession was also propelled by the blond and blue eyes Emilio Estevez. *sigh*

Still, I was sad that his career took this dive into weirdness, and it makes me happy to see him doing something...I don't know, of quality again, I suppose.
