Lunch time!

How sad is it, when most of my content these days contains pictures of lunch? (I'm also busy writing, instead of posting today.)

I'm sure the newness will fade soon enough, but for now, I'm afraid the lunch photos are here for a bit. Today's offering is at least a little different:

That's still the usual yogurt/granola breakfast in the bottom left, but up top today we have spaghetti with freshly grated parmesan and pepper - Mmmmmm. Cherries, because they were reasonably priced and I love them, and more crackers and Laughing Cow light. I was going to put in a piece of bread and butter to go with the spaghetti, and forgot. Oh, well. Oh, and there's a thing of string cheese for a possible snack, if need be.

Mark forgot his box at school yesterday, and was totally bummed to have his old plastic bag back. Although he has complained that I'm not giving him quite enough food in the new lunchbox. He is actually getting the same amount, just different - for example, his old lunches contained two sandwiches, two baggies of chips, and an orange. Usually he only ate one bag of chips. His lunch yesterday had 1 sandwich, 1 bag of chips, a container of cottage cheese, an orange, some string cheese, and a bag of runts. I asked him if he ever went hungry during the day, and he thought about it, said "not really", and we'll see how it goes. I may add an extra sandwich next time and see if he eats it.

ETA: The spaghetti was so good! I think I may have forgotten that leftovers are often better the next day, than when freshly made and consumed the evening before. Though it might be summer everywhere else right now, today dawned overcast and wet, and cool. The spaghetti is a nicely warm dish on such an afternoon. :)

Mmm, cherries! I walked past them three times in the grocery store before I gave in and bought them. :)

Spaghetti is always better the second day! (As are most casseroles.)

I like Rainier cherries, and they had a very limited and crappy crop this year due to bad weather. 9 bucks a lb, and the taste is very poor. *pouts* No cherries for me this year, I guess. *sniff* (They had some at game on Sunday.)

Glad your new lunch toy is working out, and yesterday after I had my taco, I looked at your lunch and was thinking, "I want her lunch!"
