Since you guys have expressed interest in my lunchtime posts, I'll probably continue them. Today's lunch, however, was exactly the same as yesterday's, and thus I didn't feel a new picture was appropriate. I simply redirect you to yesterday's pic, instead.

Last of the spaghetti, though, so tomorrow will be different.

And with hunger thusly dealt with, I dive back into space pirates. I've figured out one of those little moments, those bits of dialogue, that will be part of the ending. I can't wait to get to it, so I can actually write it. :) It's one of those things that sounds totally kick ass in my head, and I hope against hope it will come out that way in the scene.

And also, pleasepleaseplease be awesome. I don't think you all understand how much the original Trek shaped my future as a SF/F geek/writer/person. When I was three, I used to dance to the opening music in front of the TV. For my eighth birthday, my parents took me to see Wrath of Khan in the theater. Aside from leaving me forever scarred with a squick about bugs or other creepy crawly things and people's ears, I sobbed, SOBBED my way out of the theater because OMG they killed my favorite character, Spock, and I KNEW he was dead, no matter how many times my Mom tried to tell me he would come back. I remember distinctly my utter certainty and devastation, as well as the fact that people around us thought my crying was "cute". (Idiots! It was not cute, didn't they understand Spock was DEAD?!)

I would likely not be writing a space opera now, if not for my early fascination with Trek.

I didn't see it in the theater, but damn I bawled my eyes out when they killed Spock! I was totally in love with Spock.

I'm hesitant about the new movie, but I'll give it a go.

I have high hopes. It was written by the same guys who did Transformers, and not un-coincidentally, some of the better episodes of Alias. I'm fairly certain at least one of them is a Trek geek (I know his brother is). *hopes*
