I am discovering something about myself as a writer - I do not like endings. In theory, they're fine things. I know what needs to happen. I should, I've spent the entire book getting there, right? But none of that matters. Even though I have the first three chapters of Book 2 ready to go, my brain does not care. Some part of it does not want to write the end of Book 1.

But I am forcing it to. I am forcing the words to be written, and only chocolate and caffeine seem to be making it all okay.

I have never realized this before. I don't remember it being this way with DV, but according to [livejournal.com profile] kistha, it so totally was. I think this time, it's worse. *sigh*

LOL, I'm the same way. I much prefer cliffhangers endings that leave things open for interpretation.

Argh, I remember the post (fanfiction) novel let-down. I get so tied up into the lives of the characters that it feels like hovering over a vast empty pit without enough momentum to get to the other side. Wanna go back to the edge.

But it passes.

All writers have their pain. I guess this is yours. :)

Or maybe it's punishment for killing people.
