why do long weekends still seem so short?

I gave up at about [friends?skip=200], so I'll just say I hope everyone had an awesome Thanksgiving, and long weekend (if you had one). Mine was good enough that work seems to have come back all too soon. A post-long weekend bullet list:

~ We stayed up until 3:30 am Saturday watching the PotC movies, as my sis and her hubby had only ever seen the first one (the horror!) Now I have pirates on the brain, which is no bad thing. :-)

~ Congrats on everyone who successfully completed NaNo!! :-D

~ And a special congrats to quiet_rebel, who completed her latest novel this past weekend. Typing those words THE END is a powerful thing. :-D Whoo-hoo!

~ On a serious note, I see from my friends list that LJ has lost a much loved member, and though I personally knew nothing of Abby until today, my heart goes out to all of you grieving. Many of your comments and posts brought tears to my eyes, for a woman I never knew. {{Massive HUGS}}

~ I had terrible nightmares about a serial killer last night, and I hadn't even watched Criminal Minds recently. I have no idea, but I did not like it, brain!

~ I am making myself a scarflette. I don't knit or crochet, so I'm sewing one, and I'm super excited about it. Mine will be soft grey flannel, with pretty black beaded trim.

~ My lunch today is ALL about the leftovers - leftover turkey, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, gravy, and some sweet little clementine oranges. I am also drinking homemade mulled apple cider in my cup this morning, instead of coffee. Mmmmmm.

Somewhat OT, but by any chance have you mailed my Rainbow Drive pendant? I haven't seen it, so I wanted to know if I should be on the lookout for it, or if it somehow disappeared into the USPS ether.

I am mailing it this week. It's in its box ready to go. It would've been last week, but I didn't make it to the post office before the holiday. It should, with any luck, reach you before the end of the week!

Awesome! I just remembered you saying something about mailings a while ago, and I wasn't sure if it had gone out, and I got worried. I'm not in any particular hurry, I just wanted to make sure it was safe. :) Thanks for letting me know!
