A question for all you authors, or writers who may have been through this - my crit partner, [livejournal.com profile] woodrunner has run into an unusual (to us newbies) request from the agent currently reading her full manuscript. She could sure use some advice before she fullfills their request.

Yeah, it struck me as a bit odd, as well. Most agents say something like "I don't want to know about you, unless you have previous publications, or your day job directly affects your subject credibility. I just want to read the work."

Asking for a personal bio is a little different, but what she doesn't say in her post is that they prefaced the request with "We are reading [Book X] with interest, and would you mind..."

I know it's a well known and established house, with a good record...
