Peacekeeper Wars, Part Deux

OH MY GOD THEY KILLED D'ARGO!!!

Ok, just had to get that out of my system. I knew it was going to happen. I knew when he and Jothee started having all of those "chip off the old block" moments together, that one of them was sure to die, and the unfortunate Farscape truth being that D'Argo was the most likely candidate.

Of course, we didn't actually see his death, and in Farscape verse, more than half the people that "die" end up coming back. Although that might cheapen his sacrifice. I don't know. Killing off a main MAIN character that's been in damn near every single episode since the pilot has me emotionally overwhelmed. Zhaan's death was sad, yes, but that was what? After 2 seasons? Not quite equal to the emotional investment I had in D'Argo.

And I knew the moment he died that John & Aeryn would name the baby after him. Which means he very definitely probably won't be coming back, because it would be kind of confusing to have two D'Argo's running around.

Why, you might ask, do I keep talking like there will be more Farscape? Well, hope springs eternal. And I haven't checked into the ratings the mini had, but I bet they were good. Anyone know?

Things I loved:

-- "I have killed men for less!" Heh. Aeryn's reaction to giving birth was perfect the whole way through. Not wanting John to touch her, being pretty much the worst patient ever, at least while Chiana was helping her, wanting to join in the firefight the whole time she was giving birth, if she could have.

-- The birth of the baby was perfect. The scenes w/the family after that could have come off sappy and over done, but they didn't. They were just the right touch of poignancy. And finally, the baby is born! So in the future, Aeryn will not be a hostage just because she's pregnant anymore. Yay.

-- Sikozu was the traitor, hmm? And here I thought Scorpy had finally found love. It must have been a bitter disappointment for him when he figured it out. I didn't quite catch what her "final mission for the Scarrans" as he put it, was. We get that last shot of her lying amidst the wreckage of the city, but I'm still confused. Did Scorpius cripple her so she couldn't move freely? Did he leave her there w/the intention of letting the Scarrans find her? What?

-- Gee, poor Scorpy just had a really bad day, didn't he? Sikozu's a spy, and wormhole weapons turn out to be so terrible in their destructiveness, even he wouldn't use them. What does he have left?

-- I expected Braca to die, actually, and was happy that he didn't. I don't quite understand his unswerving loyalty to Scorpius, but it's a trait I can admire in the character. He's like the epitome of a Peacekeeper, far more that Grayza, who inspires nothing in me whatsoever.


Questions I have:

-- Again, what was Sikozu's fate? I want to know!

-- What was up with Grayza being pregnant? They did nothing with it, and she looked ready to pop for the entire mini. Aeryn gave birth, and there Grayza was, still very pregnant. *scratches head*

-- Where do they go, now? I mean, say this one did so great, we get another mini, or a full length movie, or a return of the series. The wormhole stuff is a done deal. We have galaxy wide peace, signed and witnessed by the now resurrected Peacemakers. I mean, this makes a fine end to the series, but I keep reading how they left it "open" to "go anywhere". I guess that's true, because I see resolution of storyline practically everywhere I look.


Hmm, it might seem I have less to comment about for this second half, but the truth is, it was so overwhelming, it was harder to pick out individual things to comment on. I'm emotionally wrung, now. How's everyone else doing?
