If you're wondering where you can help...
Jan. 13th, 2010 10:08 amI'm sure everyone has already heard about the terrible earthquake(s) to hit Haiti yesterday. As always in these catastrophic situations, they need immediate help to save as many lives as possible. Via several folks on my f-list, Partners in Health is a relief organization already situated in Haiti and moving to respond by supplying medical staff, bandages, meds and other supplies. They need all the help they can get. To donate, go here. Donations as small as $10, or as large as whatever you want, I'd imagine.
If you haven't read the headlines or watched CNN yet, they're saying a possible death toll in the hundreds of thousands. Tens of thousands of people injured and homeless. Port-au-Prince is completely devastated, and it's a city of more than a million people. This is an enormous catastrophe on a scale we rarely see.
It certainly puts my soon-to-be-unemployed stress in perspective.
