Coffee and Books and Stuff
Jul. 5th, 2005 10:13 amSo last week topsecretrecipes.com featured the super-sekrit recipe for making your own Starbuck's Caramel Macchiato. The page is no longer up, but I copied the recipe and saved it if anyone wants.
Since this is my drink of choice, be it hot or iced, I am now contemplating purchasing a reasonably priced espresso machine. (Hopefully saving myself the 3-4 times per week when I drive across town to Starbuck's and spend over $3 on coffee.) I'm not looking to spend a lot of money, but I do want it to steam the milk adequately. Any recs?
Finished Sherrilyn Kenyon's newest. ( my thoughts, reasonably spoiler free )
Also, for anyone who enjoys SK's stuff, I have a new rec: Tiger Eye by Marjorie Liu. It's her first published book. A romance about shapeshifters that sets up a very complete world and background of characters for future books. I enjoyed it immensely, finishing it in approximately four hours. (I read fast. It drives my friends nuts when I finish a book in a day or two that takes them a week or more.)
I am contemplating signing up for the Doctor/Rose ficathon that
voleuse linked this morning (sorry, I don't have the link handy), but I'm concerned about committing to too much fic when original work is what I need to concentrate on this summer. I already have the Mr. and Mrs. Smith crossover fic due on something like July 12th or 17th or something. (Heh. Crossing over with Jack and Irina, baby! Fun stuff.) And I want to keep this weekend's success with S&S rolling.
