Drink lots of coffee, write whenever you can squeeze even a sentence in, and forget what it's like to sleep until December :)

This is my first year. What have I gotten myself into?

Oh, it's a lot of fun. Even if you don't make the 50k words, it's fun to track your progress and see how everyone else is doing and no matter what, but the end of Novemeber you have more of whatever you were working on done than you did at the beginning.

It's also hard, because you have to carve out time to write pretty much every day, and crazy, because you find yourself doing things like staying up until 3am to get your word count for the day in, and then getting up at 6:00 to go to work. At least I do. :) Coffee or other forms of caffeine will be your friend.
