I'm pretty sure I'm coming down with something. On the left side of my throat, it feels very much like I have swollen glands. And I'm suddenly tired all the time with no energy.

And on an unrelated note, my right knee hurts every time I stand up, walk, bend it, etc. Bad. It feels like the whatever that's under the kneecap is on freaking fire. And my left knee has some of the same thing, but hurts so much less than the right that I barely even notice. Is this God's way of telling me I need to get back on the exercise regime? I mean, I haven't lost any weight recently, but I haven't gained any, either. I'm still floating right at the same 145-150 lbs from day to day. (Wow, and that took a lot more courage than I thought it would to post my actual weight. My driver's license shaves ten pounds off that, of course. ;)

So WTF? I haven't done anything to strain that kneee that I can think of. It's been giving me minor problems since last summer, aching from time to time, but nothing like this. A friend that knows massage fixed some stuff in my back about a month ago, and it made all my knee problems go away, minor though they were. Now, suddenly, I'm practically crippled. And I DO NOT want to have to go and see a doctor.

Grrr.

And to top it all off, I'm still stalled on my fic for the Rohirrim ficathon. *sigh*

That is not good dear. It sounds like you did something to your patella tendon. My non-official medical opinion is that you should spend the next couple of days taking regular doses of Advil for the anti-inflamatory benefits and then ice for 15 minutes at least 3x a day. if you don't see an improvement, go to the doctor -- they will most likely need to do an MRI to determine if there is tendon/ligament damage.

Really? Damn it all to...

Dang. Well, I've taken the ibuprofen, and I'll try the ice and see. I'm not exactly sure what an MRI is, but isn't it some sort of X-ray? Which means expensive. And we have no medical insurance. So here's where I pray I just strained something, and it heals up on its own.

Eeep! No medical insurance... Ack. And yes, an MRI is really expensive. I've had loads of them but I've always been covered by insurance

Here is a quick tendonitis overview from WebMD: http://my.webmd.com/content/article/78/95608.htm?lastselectedguid={5FE84E90-BC77-4056-A91C-9531713CA348}

Not sure if that is what it is, but it doesn't hurt to stay with the ibuprofin and start icing.

A few other things to consider:

1. Don't wear high heels. They throw your entire leg out of whack and will only hurt your knee more

2. Stay off your leg and try to keep it elevated...

Hope it gets better!
