Wow, what the heck is in the water today? A casual scroll through the f-list reveals a lot of really angry people on it. About various and sundry things, most of which appear to be personal issues between folks or fandom, rather than mad at the world in general stuff.

I'm just going to stay in my happy little corner of the world, reveling in the brief sunshine we've got over here, k? I'm going to get steaks ready for the BBQ and clean off the pine needles that have managed to cover our deck furniture since last week. And finish the beta I owe [livejournal.com profile] dragonsinger, and then maybe work on some of my own WIPs tonight.

Oh, and I did come online to actually post something. :) Finally saw Doctor Who 2x01, and let me just say I officially love the new season, even though we're only one episode in. I loved the tie-in with S1, loved Rose's new hair, loved the things about 10 that were different from 9, but also the things which seem to be a bit the same. Obviously, the more overt flirtation between the Doctor and Rose is fun; I'm quite sure that kiss, even though it was really Cassandra, had fangirls squeeing all over the net. But what I loved absolutely the best was the Doctor's deadpan demand to know what the cat-nun-nurses had done to Rose, and change her back right now thank-you-very-much, and how calm he was without being calm about it at all. I loved, loved, loved that whole sequence. I'm very excited to see wher this season takes us.

And I really need a Ten icon, now.

This one's my favorite Ten icon.

Actually, what had the fangirls squeeing more than the kiss was Wet!Doctor. TWICE.

Happy place, here. Totally and absolutely not-angry. We could share our joy about the sunshine, only ... erm. Looking outside reveals me an inky night. Damn.

LOL. I'd share my sunshine if I could!

I love how the Doctor knew it wasn't really Rose. Very, very cool. Yes, I'm loving the new season myself.

What was especially cool about that was how subtly it was played as to when, exactly, he figured it out. He started getting suspicious with the accent and the big old snog. When they went to the terminal, he started testing her. She was displaying way too much knowledge of the hospital. He asked her a question that she shouldn't have known the answer to, and he just played it off, not tipping his hand. As they entered the grungy intensive-care Matricky Infectopodorium, he clearly had cottoned on.

But he didn't say anything until there was somebody there that he thought could do something about it.

Yes, exactly! And I imagine Nine would have responded in exactly the same manner. I loved that whole thing. :)

An aftermath of the Mondays, perhaps? I'm quite happy. In fact, only a few things could make life even better--and those will come in good time.
