Ok, so someone who has me on their address list is infected with a virus. A virus that likes to mail hundreds of stupid e-mails to everyone in their address book, each of which also contain the virus, and deceptive titles like "microsoft security pack". I e-mailed everyone on my addy list to let them know, so hopefully wherever this virus is originating they can do a scan and purge. Because even with pretty-much-useless filters and blocks, the e-mails are still getting through. Because they change subject headings and incoming addresses.

My inbox is full very time I turn around, and I'm frustrated enough to consider switching e-mail adresses, which I REALLY don't want to do. Anyone out there a computer guru, who knows a better way to fix this?

Oh, and if anyone out there has me on their address list, and suspects they might have a virus, please run a virus scan.

Ok, so I've located the source. Apparently the SFF.net servers were scanned and the virus is sending e-mails to everyone who ever posted anything to an NG, or has an sff.net e-mail address. *sigh* Meanwhile, there appears to be no way to actually stop the e-mails from coming in, until the virus either expires, or the people infected remove it from their systems. Arg.
