Yay for Thursday!

I have finished the first bobble - actually, I probably would have gotten a good start on the second, but cleaning the kitchen intervened.  I'll get the first photographed today, then off in the mail it goes.  I'm actually pretty pleased with how it came out - hopefully the recipient will be as well. :)

Yesterday, my friend L peppered my inbox with images that someone had dressed up with funny catchphrases relevant to roleplay.  I burst out laughing several times, garnering me strange glances from my co-workers.  The best of the bunch (highly image intensive, but worth it):

You know one of the things that sucks about writing?  When you're in a groove and things are going awesomely well, and then something (like three days worth of dusty filing) interrupts that groove, getting it back is nigh impossible.  It's enough to make me want to weep.  Stupid work. 

So I'm not-writing-fic again today.  Maybe if I can find that groove again, the other will come back as well.  Why did this have to happen at the end of the damn book, when every chapter is uber-important? 

In the meantime, Rogue.  Ah, well.  I've been wanting to write finish this fic for a long time, so I guess there's the silver lining, eh?

Drabble

So, I've got three or four scenes done for this Rogue/Gambit fic, but they're all kind of jumbled and out of order, and there are huge gaps in between.  (To give you an example, the fic starts a few months post-X3, when Rogue has never even heard of Carol Danvers or Gambit, and then there's a scene with Carol, where she kills her, and a scene later with Gambit, where...well, I'll just post it, shall I?)

My point is, who knows if/when I'll ever really finish this thing.  I want to, but there's so much happening in it that the scope is more words than I can commit to with a non-fic WIP hanging over my head.  So, I'm at least going to post the Rogue/Gambit scene as a drabble.  Then it's almost like I've actually finished something, right?  Someday maybe it'll get posted again, as part of the completed fic.

Bobble update

Bobble #2 is in the bag!  (It's a size 6 1/4 or thereabouts, quiet_rebel - hopefully that size will work. I was shooting for 6 1/2, but it's just under that.  :)  I am very, very pleased with the result, and I never would have come up with this particular design without her prompt - "midnight moon ring".
