So, as I stated last week, we had out of town guests all weekend, and stuff going on with them that made writing on NaNo impossible.  I did get a few words in Friday, and then I've gotten another 3k in today, putting me at just over 3K shy of completeing NaNo.  Who knows, I may have time to get that in tonight, but I'm guessing I won't until tomorrow.  So, for now, progress meter:

So close.  We'll see how tonight goes, cause I would reeeeally like to break that NaNo barrier.  I am, however, just over half done with the novel, which I suppose I should start posting progress for:

That's a rough estimate for total words to completion.  It may go slightly over.

I hit 42,500 before lunch today. About 10k ago, these Psi Alliance guys started showing up, complicating everything. I know the finished novel will be more than 50k (although editing at the beginning of next year will drop it to closer to that), but all I care about is reaching the 50k mark before Thanksgiving. I can finish the rest of the book at my leisure (since I've got notes) (although the Psi Alliance weren't in the notes before the weekend...) but I just want to hit the mark as soon as possible so I can check it off my list and start working on other things. Like finishing my mum-in-law's present... (-:

You, however, are Queen of the NaNo and I am totally in awe of you.

I don't know about that - I'm amazed at how you were able to start over after having over 10,000 words a week in, and still get this far so quickly. That is some fast and serious writing, in my book.

Isn't it funny how unexpected things show up and decide to be in the story? Usually for me, it's a character that was only supposed to be a small part, that ends being a major part. That hasn't actually happened in this one, yet. I suppose I should count my blessings that it's going smoothly and mostly according to plan. :D

Congrats! You're gonna get to 50K, no problem! But you're trying to get to 75, aren't you?

Good luck!

I was trying for 75K in November, but I've kind of switched that to 'finishing the novel by Christmas'. Which will make it 90K in 6-7 weeks. I'd be happy with that. :D

Especially since whereever I'm at November 30th, I'll definitely be somewhere over the 50K mark.
