I finished the duvet cover!  Yay!  It took me four hours of sewing last night (because the zipper was a pain, so was the cording around the edges, and it's a LOT of fabric to deal with whilst sewing, once you've got the thing almost entirely put together).  But it's done, we slept with it on the bed last night, and it looks great, if I do say so myself.  :D

Next up: the matching canopy.  Which, considering Mark looked at the window drape for the bedroom I bought last night and said "Why do we need that?  We already have the [extremely cheap] vertical blinds," I doubt he's going to get why I'm making a canopy.  Realize the window drape does nothing to obscure vision through the window.  It just hangs there and looks pretty.  It seems 'decorative' isn't a household thing he really gets.  Must be a guy thing. 

I know we've been in the house for three years, and I should already have decorative things done, but, well, we don't.  Except for in the living room.  That has very pretty curtains and drape, instead of the utilitarian blinds we got for the rest of the windows.   But that's the only room.  I'm just now getting around to the others. 

I'm still reeeeeeally tired today (gee, sewing for four hours again last night probably didn't give me the mental break I needed), so I haven't much else to say at the moment.  I'm just happy one project is finished. :)

We still don't have blinds and we're almost to 2 years. Don't feel bad. :)

We went to Home Depot and got blinds for all the windows for like $70 - we had them cut the long vertical ones to fit the family room and our master bedroom. This was done as a "temporary" fix until we could afford more, but they really don't look bad. And I think dressed up with a decorative swag, they'll do even better. :)

I'm not into spending thousands on window coverings. At least not at this stage in my life!
