Using Semagic to post to all three journals at once ~

rhienelleth @ livejournal.com
rhienelleth @ greatestjournal.com
rhienelleth @ insanejournal.com

ETA: Yeah, so WHATEVER - that didn't work. Grrr. Why does Semagic have to thwart me?? I followed all the instructions, why will you not work?

How did it work?

It didn't for me. Though it seems to work just fine for other people, so I'm sure it's user error.

I am in the process of copying all my LJ content over to both GJ and IJ, and then I'll start adding things like user pics and friends and such. Do you use GJ as a back-up to LJ, or more as your "main" journal?

So, what is this all about?

Planning on migrating - or have you migrated, or are they theme specific (yadayadayada) does this have anything to do with the most recent fandom freak out you wouldn't talk about?

No, I'm not migrating, just using "back up" journals in case the big migration comes or LJ does something that forces me to move. I'm syncing the journals together, so if LJ implodes or fandom does an exodus, I'm covered.

Well, I'll be syncing them if I can get Semagic to do its thing.

So, basically in the most recent fandom upheaval, LJ/Six Apart deleted two well known fandom artists' journals without any warning - no strikethrough, they were just suddenly gone, because 'someone' had reported the artists' art as being inappropriate. (They were HP fandom artists, and some of their art depicted graphic situations w/the characters.)

This is moving fwd in a direction fandom had feared after the great Strikethrough incident, whereby complaintists can send a complaint, and LJ will delete first without allowing the journal user to defend or explain, or, apparently, back up their journals. So a bunch of people are taking the initiative to back-up their content elsewhere now.

Greatest Journal and Insane Journal are both basically LJ clones, so people seem to be going to both of them the most.

Hmmm.

Well - I thought that hullabaloo had blown over and that LJ was being responsible and less insane.

I'm not likely to ever get hit there - no one really reads it, and I don't do anything that's even close to what they are looking for.

It's funny, I like the massive icon thing can't remember which one it was - but I only have like 16 out of 100 anyway.

Just didn't want to miss a moment of rienelleth goodness, you know.
