1. I don't know if the screenwriters just didn't find the plot to the book relevant to our times, or what, but the book was based in and around China and various other Asian countries. Not Berlin. Not Moscow. Also: WTF??? They killed Maria??? Let me see...in book three they're still married and have children. Guess that's not happening now! I spent the first half of the movie arguing with the subconsious reader portion of my brain, trying to rationalize ways she could still be alive, since, you know, she never dies in the freaking book!
2. The jerky camera work was worse than in the first movie, and began giving me a headache with migraine overtones less than twenty minutes in. Which is really too bad, because I enjoyed the movie. I just don't know if I'll be able to watch it ever again.
3. Lest you all think I was absolutely disgusted, I wasn't. I just mentally separated the movies from the books, and taken as their own thing, the Bourne movies are very good action thrillers. I'm looking forward to the next one, though I already know it will have even less to do with the books than the first two movies have. Matt Damon is believable to me as this character, and does a great job. (That's saying something, because I don't normally like him.) I loved the fact that they brought back all of the actors from the first movie, even the ones with very small parts.
I'd forgotten how much I loved this series. Certain moments, certain episodes I'd forgotten, have me back to praying that they will come out with the other seasons. (In the deleted scenes of "Not Was", the director says "...before you see it in the Season 4 DVD..." God I hope so!!!!)
There are episodes I never got to see. Things I'd forgotten. I'm over halfway through, and absolutely distraught that I'll be done soon. I can't remember, does S2 end with a cliffhanger? I hope not.
Oh, and after much grave refelction, Michael's hair is not that most dreaded of styles, the mullet. It is styled sometimes to look that way, but his hair is not actually cut short around his face. It is shorter than in back, but still hangs nearly to his chin when free.
