Recently watched movie trailers

The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor - Why Stephen Sommers, why?? Yeah, I might pay matinee price, or rent it. Because of Brendan Fraser, and um, can't remember his name...the guy who plays Jonathan.

Not a trailer, but I've been following the news on the G.I. Joe sporadically. I loved this show so, so much as a kid. Lady Jaye was my favorite female character, and I've been a bit annoyed that neither she nor Flint appear to be included in the movie. However, the news that Ray Park was cast as Snake Eyes (my all time favorite Joe) helped make up for this unfortunate oversight. That said, promotional pics and other news tidbits have lowered my expectations on this one to *cringing* inside. I am very, very concerned. However:



Channing Tatum as Duke. I am so, so, SO shallow. I don't even like Duke, particularly.

Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 - Awww. Yes, I will likely see this one.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars - holy crap this looks amazing. I cannot WAIT.

Brideshead Revisited - I love period dramas like this, but knowing the ending, I don't like that sort of ending, so...maybe I'll see it, and maybe I won't. The trailer looks amazing, however.

If she couldn't be in it, I'd much prefer they somehow write her character out than what they've done - the recast route. You don't recast a character like that in the final (one assumes hopes) chapter of the series! It sorta breaks something for me.

I'm very very interested in seeing this because of Channing, and dude, Ray Park as Snake Eyes is made of the win. And honestly, if this is released in the summer, I'll probably go see it because I love the summer movie season.

I wonder if they're going to do the Scarlet/Snake eyes comic canon thing, or the "meh" cartoon Duke/Scarlet pairing. Although, with Channing Tatum....I could almost be okay with that. Maybe.

I'm right there with you with Channing Tatum... I cannot explain it but I can watch his wooden acting eight day out of the week and never get tired. I've also watched Step Up more times than I care to admit. I believe it's my latent Marky Mark weakness.

Me, too -- Flint and Lady Jaye not being there has taken away any enthusiasm I might have had for the movie. :( Lady Jaye kicked so much ass, and she and Flint were so adorable. (Although, that picture? I, too, am shallow, as it makes me consider having enthusiasm again.)

Their romance was so much better than Scarlet/Duke, which totally ignored the whole Scarlet/Snake eyes comic canon that was fascinating and all kinds of awesome and star crossed. I never liked Scarlet/Duke, or Duke much, really, and once I picked up my first comic, could really never buy into them.

Lady Jaye and Flint, on the other hand, had the best banter and like you say, kicked ass. Why are they not in the movie, I wonder? Because the cartoon sort of made Duke/Flint and Scarlet/Lady Jaye interchangeable on the team?
