I had a great weekend. No, really. I got to spend time with friends I don't get to see often enough, chatting about everything from crepes, to movies, to writing. I apparently missed the worst of the weekend heat at home whilst this was taking place.

On the other hand, my train home, supposed to be a mere five hours, became seven and a half because something went wrong with a bridge and we had to wait for it to be fixed. For more than two hours. Ugh. I didn't get home until after one in the morning. I am not functioning all that well today, as a consequence. And worse, I had no internet access, and the Tony/Pepper fic I started Friday and intended to finish on the train apparently got saved to my work computer, not to my flash drive as I thought.

I consoled myself by watching several episodes of Doctor Who S3. I fell behind on DW some time back and have always meant to catch up. I've had all of S3 waiting to be watched on my laptop, and the seven hour train ride gave me the opportunity. So, tell me fandom, what did everyone think of Martha when she was first introduced? Rose is a tough act to follow, but I feel like they did a decent job.

I was, a very quick trip up, unfortunately, as I have no time to take from work. But still fun. You know, other than the train ride home. :-)

I'd make comment of "but they live like a mile from me!" but I haven't seen them in like 2 years myself, so...

Actually we we met in downtown Seattle and stayed there, so I was never near their house. :D

And I have to say, it's odd how that works, the closer you live to someone the less it is you seem to see them. We have two sets of friends who love less than a mile from us. One we try to at least do a BBQ w/every summer, and the other....we've never even seen their house. *facepalm*

Wow, I suck - I never thought to make the call-out for a group dinner, as that would have been a helluva lot of fun. With KJ hosting the coast-trip, and the downtown WW cancelled (which is why we rented the Downtown time-share in the first place a year ago) I just got hyper-focused on it being a "vacation from work", and didn't think about group mayhem. (sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry..)

And yeah, we're still doing cat-vet stuff, but hopefully an end is in sight soon, which will then open up a variety of social possibilities that haven't been available since the whole vet thing started last winter.

Oh, no worries!

When you're available again, let me know. :D

I love Martha, but I think a lot of people didn't. (I actually like her better than Rose, although I really liked Rose when she was on). S3 was when Ten really started working for me as well (but then, I missed the end of S2 originally).

Oh, wow. You should definitely get caught up--series 4 of DW, that's where it's at. Especially right now. So good.

I haven't been able to consistently watch the show since Rose left. The last two girls... Meh... =(
