Now that I have time for creative pursuits other than costuming, some new pretties in my stash that will be fun to play with:
Some lower grade, but still quite pretty tourmaline nuggets:

Gorgeous gem quality green amethyst:

Despite my costume from the weekend, pink is not normally my color, yet I couldn't resist this super good quality rose quartz in big, round, faceted beads:

And lastly, some stuff called Calsilica, a controversial stone I'd never heard of until recently. Apparently, there's a lot of argument out there about whether or not it is manmade. Some claim it is mined in Mexico, and photos of rock faces and "mines" have even circulated. Others swear it could only be manmade, and those photos are carefully staged or photoshopped fakes. But whatever Calsilica's origins, there's no denying it's a unique and gorgeous stone:
