Somehow, leaving the holidays behind for another year makes me kind of depressed. Back to the really real world, now. *sigh*

Yuletide reveals happened, so I can now say that I wrote Christmas in Morganville for [livejournal.com profile] voleuse. :) It was something of a shock, out of the hundreds - thousands? - of participants, to get someone from my own f-list. But I was delighted to be writing for her, and she seems to have enjoyed reading it. :D She requested friendship fic - usually I'm more of an angst and smut girl, so this was a little different for me, fic-wise. I had a lot of fun this year, and definitely plan to participate again next year.

Also, the writer of my fabulous yuletide gift, Should Auld Acquaintance Be Forgot was revealed to be [livejournal.com profile] seawench. :) I know I've seen the name around my f-list before, though I've never "met" her until now. I think one of the most fabulous things about yuletide is how it crosses virtual paths for people that otherwise might not, and how you end up reading some truly wonderful fic writers you might otherwise miss.

Overall, I am left feeling very satisfied by the entire yuletide experience. I hope it continues for many years more. :D

I am not going to post a Good-bye 2008 or Hello 2009 post. Really, the less said for me, the better. 2008 was pretty much the year of bad news, worse news, and more worse news for me, and I'd as soon forget the entire damn year ever happened. 2009 can only really excite me at all by providing some form of spectacular-ness or other to overshadow the previous year. I am not making resolutions; rather, I am praying for a better year to come.

Saw Valkyrie. It was a very good, well acted, engaging movie. Sad, but I think it's a story that needs to be told. Not all of Germany was behind Hitler, and it's good for that side of things to see as much exposure as all the rest.

Oh, and if you could spare some clicks, I've got an egg that needs them: Adopt one today!

HEE!

My recipient was on my f-list too. And was my writer. Wackyness.

I adored it. And yeah, it was surprising to actually receive something from someone on my f-list, as well. What are the chances, y'know?

Edited for a typo. =P
