This is mostly for
kistha, but anyone who reads
officialgaiman is probably aware of the post where some entitled feeling fan wrote in asking Neil's opinion about the length of time between George R. R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire books coming out, and how dare GRRM work on ANYTHING ELSE when he owes the fans the next book in the series.
And Neil responded with something like "I'm trying to think of a more polite way of answering you, but I can't. George R. R. Martin is not your bitch. And then he went on to explain a lot of things about why that's so true, and that while writers love and appreciate fans, they don't owe them their firstborn, etc. I wish I had the link to the post.
Anyway, it was a great post. People made T-shirts. I'm not sure where you can get these T-shirts, but Kyle Cassidy wore one to Worldcon - and then went and sat next to George R. R. Martin.
*dies laughing*
That is AWESOME. I'm sure someone forwarded Neil a copy. Probably Mr. Cassidy. :)
