Hello hello.
Oct. 17th, 2013 04:48 pmHello LJ! I know, I know. Every so often, I post these "I'm back and blogging" posts, and then inevitably I disappear again.
However, some things have changed recently. One, I'm on my very last class of my Masters' program, meaning soon I will have time and creative energy for writing again (Yay! No more academic papers!) I feel the need to ease back into this with good old, traditional fanfic. So what's fandom up to these days? What shows are people writing/reading? Any you'd like to see me try my hand at?
Two, I have a new job. I am now the office manager at the local Coldwell Bankers, which has been...surprisingly interesting. I took the job because we needed the second income, but I am surprisingly really enjoying it. It is always busy, and everything is just different enough to always be interesting. And I really love my boss, which is important, I think. She and I just click well together.
I miss blogging. And writing. And reading fanfic. And exchanging meta about my favorite shows with you guys. I feel like social media has shifted in the past couple of years, and the things I loved about it aren't what anyone is doing anymore. IDK. Now that I've settled into work, I'm going to get back into my old routine of reading and posting, I hope. Maybe the things I loved are still there, and I just haven't been around to notice.
Other things:
~ I am mostly gluten-free, which means I am always trying new recipes and such. Anyone else experiencing this dietary change? I feel like that could be one of those interesting bits to post about.
~ After 13 years, I have a new car! Yep, I had to give up my 17-year-old Honda Accord, and now I drive a shiny new Volkswagen Sportwagen TDI. (Diesel. About 30-40mpg, city or highway driving dependent.) Her name is Isabella. She is beautiful, and I love everything about her. :) I almost don't even mind the monthly payment. Almost.
~ I have a new obsession with handbags. Mostly Coach, because we have a factory store nearby, and I have a remarkable weakness for pretty colored leather and shiny hardware.

Date: 2013-10-18 12:09 am (UTC)On tablet, can't type much, but...
Yes to gluten-free (Whole30 for me).
No real new shows, love Sherlock. Blacklist looks good, Spader chews up scenery.
What about your novel??

Date: 2013-10-18 12:10 am (UTC)I went low-carb last year and lost 30 lbs. You kinda don't eat gluten anymore that way, too. :)
My sister and most my nieces are gluten-free now, too. Sarah had full-blown celiac and was miserable until she cut out gluten.

Date: 2013-10-18 07:40 pm (UTC)It's funny, I still occasionally get kudos on those old Alias fics from AO3. So people are still reading them. :)
