Tuesdays rock. You know why? Because everything media related -- DVDs, books -- is street dated for Tuesdays.

Which means I made a special trip into town before work today to stop by Fred Meyer and get my Starbucks fix, but also to pick up both Phantom of the Opera and National Treasure. They don't have the best DVD prices, but they price match with an ad as proof, so I printed out Target's online ad and took it with me. The guy at the counter didn't want to accept it, saying that store policy was to only accept the original ad from the store (to clarify, my ad was the store ad, just viewed and printed online.) But he ended up taking it anyway, probably because arguing with me would have been too much trouble.

Which is good for him, because it would have seriously pissed me off after I went to all that trouble. I'd have just gone to Target, but they don't have a Starbucks on the premises.

Now I'm very excited to have both DVDs and my coffee, even though I have to work all day before I can go home and watch either of them. (Well, and watch Phantom -- who am I kidding? National Treasure was good, but Phtantom wins out for me.)

Book rec: I've been reading some books by Katie Macalister that are absolutely wonderful. They're almost a combination of Janet Evanovich meets Sherrilyn Kenyon. There are two in the series so far, You Slay Me and Fire Me Up, and they are fun, sexy, and at times hilarious. The main character is a woman named Aisling Grey, who just happens to be a Guardian (a magical mortal who guards one of the portals to Hell, and can summon demons), a Wyvern's Mate (only someone born to be a wyvern's mate can survive the natural fire that wyverns (think leader of a clan of dragons, but in human form) have within them, and a Demon Lord (usually a high level demon with lesser demons bound to him, but in this case a mortal Guardian who accidentally binds one demon to her. A demon who has chosen to wear the shape of a Newfoundland dog.) This particular combination of skills has never existed in a single person before, and Aisling starts off in the first book not knowing any of this. Hilarity and sexy dragons ensue. Go. Buy. Read. You will not regret it.

LOL. How funny! I am going to check out her regencies, and vampire novels, as I like her style and read both of those genres when they are well written.
